A kayaker from Sylacauga, Alabama, who was reported missing in the Gulf early Thursday evening has been located in Walton County, Florida.
The head football coach at Sylacauga High School, Chris Smelley, was found by the United States Coast Guard. The Coast Guard from Mobile has been informed, and Florida Fish and Wildlife has set out from the Inlet at Destin Pass, moving east towards Grayton.
