‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ director and ‘Shin-chan’ screenwriter join Netflix anime

‘Eden’, Netflix miniseries to premiere on May 27, won a new trailer dubbed in Portuguese. With four episodes, the anime mixes elements of fantasy and science fiction. It has not yet been announced if the animation will have another season or if it is a closed story. Check it out below:

The anime is directed by Yasuhiro Irie, who commanded episodes of ‘Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood’ and also served in the animation department of shounen and other productions, such as ‘ Cowboy Bebop ‘ and ‘Digimon’. The screenplay is by Kimiko Ueno, who signs several episodes of ‘Shin-chan’ and also ‘Space Dandy’.

The production is by Justin Leach, who has worked in Japanese and North American productions, such as the animation ‘Star Wars: The Clone War’. The character design is signed by Toshihiro Kawamoto, from ‘Cowboy Bebop and Christophe Ferreira, from ‘Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood’.

The story is set in the future and follows the journey of a human baby accidentally found by a pair of robots from Eden 3, a city dominated by artificial intelligence.

In a world dominated by machines for thousands of years, humans are treated as a forbidden legend, and the child’s appearance ends up messing with the beliefs of the two robots, responsible for agricultural activities in Eden 3. The robotic duo then decides to raise the child out in a place far from that territory.

Despite the elements of science fiction and the presence of robots, the anime has no relation to the manga of the same name ‘Eden’, by Hiroki Endou, published in the 2000s and which, in turn, was never adapted for the screens.
