“I’m pleading with you to abstain from disparaging us and our 18 and a half years of marriage. In particular, I beg those who wish to disparage us based on ethnicity and religion to refrain. That is unrelated to this, and it never was. Positive feedback is always appreciated, and it greatly helps me.

“I would be lying if I claimed I was doing well, but I will give it everything I have to get over this pain and trauma and process it, and if I have to die trying, I will do it.

“I gave this relationship everything I had, my heart and soul, and I fought so hard till the end, but eventually it wasn’t enough this time, but I am hopeful that there is still happiness and love waiting for me somewhere out there.”

“This is hard, I’m in agony, I’m hurt, I’m lost,” Dokic continued, “and for now, all that matters is that I can get out of bed in the morning and put one foot in front of the other.

“When it comes to love and happiness, I will need to relearn how to walk before I can run, but I’ll give this healing process everything I’ve got.
