Jelena Dokic confirms she split with her partner Tin Bikic after 19 years.
On Instagram, former Australian tennis player Jelena Dokic announced her breakup with her longtime companion of almost 19 years.
Dokic said she and Tin Bikic had ended their relationship on Saturday night, adding that she “would be lying if I said I was doing well.”
Along with a picture of her and Bilic that had been torn in half, Dokic said on Instagram, “Sometimes these things happen, people grow apart, and it’s for the best.”
“I’m pleading with you to abstain from disparaging us and our 18 and a half years of marriage. In particular, I beg those who wish to disparage us based on ethnicity and religion to refrain. That is unrelated to this, and it never was. Positive feedback is always appreciated, and it greatly helps me.
“I would be lying if I claimed I was doing well, but I will give it everything I have to get over this pain and trauma and process it, and if I have to die trying, I will do it.
“I gave this relationship everything I had, my heart and soul, and I fought so hard till the end, but eventually it wasn’t enough this time, but I am hopeful that there is still happiness and love waiting for me somewhere out there.”
“This is hard, I’m in agony, I’m hurt, I’m lost,” Dokic continued, “and for now, all that matters is that I can get out of bed in the morning and put one foot in front of the other.
“When it comes to love and happiness, I will need to relearn how to walk before I can run, but I’ll give this healing process everything I’ve got.

The former World No. 4 admitted that practically every time her father was unhappy with her performance on the tennis court, she experienced physical abuse as a kid and adolescent.
Dokic said that the beatings were a part of the guy’s ongoing pattern of abuse in her 2017 autobiography Unbreakable, which she co-wrote with journalist Jessica Halloran.
The man had previously been dubbed the “tennis parent from hell.”
Dokic first announced on Instagram that she was beginning “a significant project, something I am very passionate about, and something I think can assist so many people” around two months ago. She called it “Unbreakable 2.0,” implying that it had something to do with her autobiography and background.
