Report: brother of controversial influencer Andrew Tate was detained on suspicion of human trafficking.

In connection with a human trafficking investigation, Andrew Tate, an internet influencer infamous for disseminating extreme misogynistic ideas, was reportedly apprehended and imprisoned in Bucharest, Romania, on Thursday.

According to the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism, Romanian police carried out search warrants and detained four suspects, two Romanian and two British, for alleged involvement in rape, human trafficking, and the formation of an organized crime group.

According to Reuters, which published pictures of Andrew Tate getting escorted by Romanian police, they included Andrew Tate & his brother Tristan Tate. According to Romanian authorities, the accused will remain in custody for 24 hours.

Accusations of human trafficking led to the arrest of Andrew Tate as well as his brother in Romania on Thursday, according to a report. Andrew Tate is a controversial social media influencer.

According to judicial authorities, police in combat gear stormed a villa where Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were living on Thursday to arrest the British siblings on suspicions of kidnapping and rape.

Video footage shows the officers searching the dark villa with riot shields and firearms before leading Tate into a car.

According to the Daily Mail, the brothers allegedly held two young ladies inside the property without their consent in April and subjected them to “physical assault and mental coercion.” One of the women had citizenship from the United States, while the other was from Romania.

The Tates, according to police, is accused of creating an organized crime gang and “sexually exploiting” women by “forcing them to conduct pornographic displays pornographic for the aim of making and spreading through social media platforms.”

Police questioned the brothers for five hours on April 11 before releasing them, according to Libertatea.

In moreover to stacks of cash, the officers also found several pistols, a knuckle duster, a hatchet, and swords of various lengths during the raid.

Soon after the news emerged, a video of Tate being taken into a car while surrounded by two officers went viral.

The four defendants “appear to have formed an organised crime gang with the intent of enlisting, housing, and utilising women by compelling them to produce pornographic material intended to be viewed on specialised websites for a fee,” according to prosecutors, as translated by Reuters.

The boys’ imprisonment was confirmed to Reuters by a lawyer for the brothers. The brothers were born in England and later emigrated to Romania. They had a profitable business selling webcam calls to ladies wearing lingerie, according to Andrew Tate, who revealed this to The Mirror earlier this year.

In April, when Romanian authorities searched Andrew Tate’s residence as part of a human trafficking investigation, the Tate brothers were interrogated by law enforcement.

The Directorate did not immediately respond to a request for comment for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in Romania.

Due to his sexist comments, Andrew Tate, a former kickboxer born in the United States, has been blocked from several social networking sites. He stated in a tweet from 2017 that victims of rape “must shoulder [sic] some responsibility.” When a video emerged in 2016 that appeared to show him assaulting a woman, he was fired from the reality TV program “Big Brother.”

Tate gained notoriety earlier this week when he attempted to mock Greta Thunberg, an environmental activist, who advised him to “get a life.”

According to court sources cited by the Romanian publication Libertatea, authorities arrested the Britishers on the grounds of kidnapping and rape.

Tate’s Twitter argument with  Greta Thunberg, an environmental activist, the day before may have been the catalyst for his arrest.

The infamous influencer requested her location to continue boasting about his 33 cars’ significant contribution to pollution after tagging her in a post showcasing them.

After watching a two-minute clip of him mocking the usage of pronouns and labeling her a “slave of the matrix,” Tate first replied with a brief “How can you?!”
