On Monday, the official website for the Date A Live IV television anime series announced the release date of the series, April 8, as well as a new visual. The visual also contains the new Spirits Nia Honj and Mokuro Hoshimiya, in addition to the known characters.
The cast also chose their favorite scenes from the past three seasons: Fans also voted for their favorite sequences, with the results being announced on Sunday by the Fantasia Bunko Online Festival 2022.
On Friday, April 8 at 10:00 p.m., the animation will premiere on the AT-X channel, followed by Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11. The anime was supposed to debut in October, but it was pushed back to this year due to “various circumstances.”
The animation is directed by Jun Nakagawa. Fumihiko Shimo is in charge of the series scripts, Naoto Nakamura is in charge of character design, and Go Sakabe, who composed the music for the previous three episodes, is back.
The introductory soundtrack “OveR” will be performed by Miyu Tomita, and the closing soundtrack “S.O.S.” will be performed by sweet ARMS, as per the Anime News Network report.
Date a Live IV
The anime is based on the light novel series Date a Live by Koshi Tachibana. It began serialization in 2011 and terminated in 2020, according to Fujimi Shobo. There were a total of 22 volumes in the light novel series.
The same author also wrote Date a Live: Encore, a light novel that includes the original series’ short stories. Under the direction of Koshi Tachibana, the same publisher is also releasing a spin-off light novel series titled Date A Live Fragment: Date A Live Bullet, which presently has seven volumes in print.
The Date a Live IV is the 4th season of The Date a Live anime series. The 1st series had a total of 12 episodes and an OVA and was animated by Studio AIC Plus in 2013.
The second season, which had a total of 10 episodes and an OVA, premiered in 2014 and was animated by Production IMS. Date A Live Movie: Mayuri Judgment was released in Japanese theaters in 2015.
The franchise returned in 2019 for its third season under J.C. Sabathia. It has a total of 12 episodes and was produced by Staff. All of it was directed by Keitaro Motonaga. Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet and Date A Bullet: Nightmare both premiered in 2020, as reported by the Anime Corner page.
The Date A Live light novels began in 2011 and ended in 2020, with 22 volumes released under Kadokawa’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. Aside from the anime and Date A Bullet, the series has spawned a slew of manga and video games. Date A Live IV is part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations for the series.
