Authorities detained a man on January 11, Wednesday, who admitted to beheading his newlywed wife, Anggy Diaz, in their Texas home. Although the victim’s name has not yet been made public by the authorities, family members have recognised her as 21-year-old Anggy Diaz.

Jared Dicus, 21, was detained by law authorities in connection with the killing of his wife after the killer admitted to cutting off her head, according to Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry. Guidry claimed that after receiving a tip about a body being discovered in a remote Texas property, police were informed of the horrifying murder.

According to reports, the newlyweds, who were married in October last year, resided in a house behind the suspect’s home. When Dicus’s parents discovered Anggy Diaz’s body inside the couple’s home, they immediately alerted the police.

When they arrived, authorities discovered the corpse at the crime scene with family members, including the suspect Jared Dicus. Guidry reported that Dicus confessed to killing his wife while being detained on the spot.

Anggy Diaz was killed a day before authorities discovered her body

Authorities think that Anggy Diaz, a Texas newlywed, was murdered by her husband a day before they received a report of “a probable deceased person” on January 11, according to Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry, who spoke during a news conference.

Anggy Diaz’s husband, Jared James Dicus, can be seen arriving in the parking lot on surveillance footage from the business where she worked at 11:40 a.m. on the day she was found dead.

According to the authorities, the suspect’s family, who shared a home with the newlyweds, informed the neighbourhood police department of the incident at about 4.18 pm on Wednesday. When they arrived, authorities discovered the death of a Hispanic woman, age 21, in a house behind the suspect’s home. They reported that only the corpse had been found inside the house, but her head was missing.

The suspected murder weapon, a knife with its head severed, was later discovered by police on the site. Police determined that the victim was slain on Tuesday at 11 pm.

Guidry described the horrific scene to reporters as follows:

“It was a terrible scene, at best. It was a piece of a person, mutilated, and a house that was covered in blood.”

The pair showed up before the event, according to the police, for a report of a minor disturbance in their home.

The family of Anggy Diaz has launched a GoFundMe effort to collect funds for her funeral.

Following her passing, acquaintances of the victim spoke with KHOU, praising Anggy Diaz as a nice person who genuinely cared about the welfare of her family. According to reports, Diaz, a native of Nicaragua, worked two jobs to pay for her mother’s cancer care at home.

Judge Trey Duho of Waller County, Texas, who presided over the marriage ceremony in October, released a message on Facebook lamenting the unfortunate event, saying:

I met a young couple in October 2022, and they were involved in this incident. They were a very charming young couple throughout my brief time with them. My thoughts and prayers are with every one of their families as I, like many of you, am deeply saddened and surprised by the news of this horrible tragedy.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible reason for the crime. The victim’s family is currently attempting to raise money for Diaz’s funeral by starting a GoFundMe page.
