Whitfield Regional Hospital went into lockdown on Monday evening when a shooting victim was brought to the hospital.
Demopolis Police Chief Rex Flowers mentioned that his department supported the Marengo County Sheriff’s office during the lockdown. He clarified that implementing a lockdown for safety is a standard procedure when a shooting victim is taken to a medical facility.
“We helped out the Sheriff’s department with the shooting incident,” Flowers stated. “[First responders] transported the individuals to the hospital, and we aided in securing the hospital during the lockdown.”
Flowers mentioned that he thought the shooting suspect had been arrested but couldn’t provide more information about the incident.
The investigators from the Marengo County Sheriff’s Office are currently looking into the shooting. As of now, no additional details are accessible. Any new information that arises will be included in this article.
