On Friday, three more United Football League teams revealed their rosters as they gear up for their season-openers. Each UFL team is allowed to have 50 players during the regular season, and they are trimming down their training-camp squads to meet that limit. Among the roster decisions announced by the Birmingham Stallions, San Antonio Brahmas, and St. Louis Battlehawks, four players with ties to Alabama football were placed on waivers.
The Stallions waived wide receivers Slade Bolden from Alabama and Myron Mitchell from Jasper, UAB. The Brahmas waived wide receiver Jordan Veasy from Gadsden City, Faulkner, and the Battlehawks waived offensive lineman Dallas Warmack from Alabama. Mitchell, who previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, had a significant impact for Birmingham’s USFL championship team last year. Warmack, on the other hand, was released after his time with St. Louis last season.
Veasy, who’s had stints with seven NFL teams and even played for the Houston Texans in 2021, put up impressive numbers for the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons last season. He recorded 21 receptions for 275 yards and three touchdowns. Before the XFL and the USFL merged into the United Football League, Seattle traded Veasy to San Antonio. As for Bolden, he attended the NFL training camp with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022 but unfortunately landed on injured reserve. The following year, he joined the Atlanta Falcons’ training camp but was let go when the team trimmed down its roster for the regular season.
The Stallions made additional moves by waiving safety Bubba Bolden, center Cohl Cabral, offensive lineman O’Shea Dugas, outside linebacker Maalik Hall, and defensive ends Chauncey Rivers and Anree Saint-Amour. After the cuts on Friday, the three teams now have a total of five players from Alabama high schools and colleges.
