Russian Operations in Ukraine Kill 198 People Including Three Children

The Ukrainian health minister stated that 198 people have been killed, and over 1,000 have been injured due to Russia’s offensive. According to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, three children were among those who died.

Children are killed, seriously wounded 

Minister Viktor Lyashko’s statement did not specify whether the casualties were military or civilian. He added that another 1,115 people, including 33 children, had been injured in the Russian invasion, which began on Thursday. His remarks came as fighting raged in Kyiv’s streets on Saturday. According to The Guardian, the city’s mayor, at least 35 people, including two children, were seriously hurt in overnight shelling and fighting.

As Russian forces approached Ukraine’s capital on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sought to dispel rumors that he had ordered the army to lay down its arms. It is their country, their land, and their children. And they will protect everything, he said in a brief video, Indian Express posted. 

Russian landing repulsed by Ukrainian troops

The Mayor of Lviv shared that a western Ukrainian city about 70 kilometers from the Polish border, a Russian landing near Brody, has been repulsed by Ukrainian troops. Brody is located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Lviv.

Russian troops landed on three helicopters in the Brody area at 9:00 a.m. There are approximately 60 people. Our troops retaliated. According to Ukrainian news agency Interfax, they are now retreating towards the forest in the Leviatyn area, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy says on a Telegram channel.
