Tales of Arise RPG Development

Tales of Arise’s development began prior to the announcement of Tales of Vesperia’s Definitive Edition in 2018. The goal of development, which began under the codename “Arise,” was to reevaluate and evolve the Tales franchise formula.

The title was derived from the game’s codename because it best exemplified both the game’s story themes and the team’s desires. Unlike previous Tales games.

Tales of Arise was published on September 10 in the West and September 9 in Japan. It was aired by Bandai Namco Entertainment via Steam for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The game was supposed to be out in 2020, but Bandai Namco decided to push it back because of the ambitious nature of the project. Yusuke Tomizawa has been the head of the franchise’s development team.

Minoru Iwamoto, a longtime Tales of team artist, was named art director for the very 1st time in the series. In the Game Awards last 2021, Tales of Arise was named Best RPG, as published by the Anime News Network site.
