A pedestrian was struck and killed late Thursday in Talladega County and the news has left many shocked. Alabama State administers identified the fatality victim as James W. Meeks. The victim was 31 and lived in Coosa County’s Weogufka community.
The crash happened at 10:40 p.m. on Alabama 21 near Desoto Caverns Parkway. It was about seven miles north of Sylacauga. The senior officer Brandon Bailey said Meeks was struck by 45-year-old Trederick L. Cook of Sylacauga.
Meeks was pronounced dead soon after on the scene. Troopers are investigating.
