WAYNE SWINNY, A GUITARIST FOR SALIVA, DIES AT 59
Saliva’s foundational member and guitarist, Wayne Swinny, passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage.
A band representative informs us, “We regret to inform you of the demise of Wayne Swinny, Saliva’s guitarist. Wayne went unexpectedly this afternoon while on tour as a result of a spontaneous brain haemorrhage.”
Only a few hours after the band announced Wayne was in the ICU following the medical emergency, devastating news broke.
Saliva’s lead singer, Bobby Amaru, claims: “Even now, I’m unsure of what to consider or how to feel. My heart bleeds for Wayne’s loved ones, his pals, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. My heart breaks for Nikki, his daughter. He was very in love with that young girl. He would go above and above to help ensure you had fun. I’m appreciative that Wayne and I had over 12 years of life together, both on and off the stage.”
Amaru goes on, “He served as my absent older brother. He taught me so lot while we had a joy talking to each other. For the remainder of my existence, I shall treasure everything! I wish you well, Wayne. I’m sure we’ll cross paths again.”
Wayne had been fighting for his survival in the ICU, as we had previously reported. He had a spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage, which was discovered when he was taken to the hospital on Tuesday.
In 1996, Wayne was among the founding members of Saliva and contributed to the formation of the group.
The band is in “total shock and heartbreak,” according to Josey Scott, the widow of Saliva’s longtime lead singer, who also wrote about Wayne’s passing.
Saliva guitarist Paul Swinny has passed away from a brain hemorrhage, and condolences to the musician are already flooding in. Saliva’s former lead singer’s wife, Josey Scott, wrote on Facebook that the group is “in full shock and sadness.”

The sole surviving founding member is Swinny.
The only original member of Saliva still actively playing was Wayne Swinny. Bassist Dave Novotny, drummer Paul Crosby, guitarist Chris Dabaldo, and frontman Josey Scott formed the group in 1996. Brad Stewart & Sammi Bishop are currently playing alongside Bobby Amaru, who took over for Josey Scott as the frontman. Despite being a heavy metal band, Saliva used rap lyrics that were influenced by hip-hop musicians.
