4th Round of Stimulus Check Far from Possible as COVID-19 Surges

There’s no sign that lawmakers are planning to send out another stimulus check right now. However, this does not imply that we should discard one for good. However, due to the highly transmissible Omicron form, we see a spike in COVID-19 cases in the first half of 2022.

End of  Public Health Emergency

According to health experts, the number of illnesses will reduce by the end of January. But if that doesn’t happen and the pandemic continues, we could be dealing with a long period of interruption. Closing down of business is possible due to this circumstance, resulting in layoffs. If that happens and the economy suffers, it could be an excellent time to consider a new round of stimulus money, US Today posted.

Despite this financial help, millions of Americans are still struggling financially, and the proliferation of the Omicron variant is adding to the economic woes. According to the latest data from a Census study that polled people during the first two weeks of December. CBS News reported that more than a quarter of Americans managed to pay their household costs in the previous week.

Fourth Wave Stimulus Checks Could be Canceled

Fortunately, as per the report, omicron causes less severe disease than its predecessors, so it may not be as disruptive. In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has amended its guidelines to reduce the time spent in quarantine for people with COVID-19. So, this could result in fewer workplace disruptions and closures, which would be beneficial to our economy, which has been improving recently.

Furthermore, the labor market is currently overflowing with opportunities, and many employers are raising wages to attract talent. For example, when the most recent stimulus check was issued in March of 2021, this was a pretty different circumstance. Finally, unlike early in the pandemic, lawmakers aren’t planning on imposing significant shutdowns to deal with the current COVID-19 outbreak. Instead, a big wave of layoffs might be avoided by this alone. With all these improvements, the 4th round of stimulus checks could not be possible.
