One of the most fundamental characteristics of shonen anime is friendship. Teens and young adults are the target audience. 

Friendships are prevalent in the bulk of these tales. It has a key part in determining both the characters and the conclusion of a series. Characters grow as a result of their ties.

These bonds are developed among siblings, friends, classmates, and even adversaries. In such friendships, the characters push each other to their limits. They end up improving each other.
