IRS Says All $1,400 Had Been Sent; Here Is What to Do If You Didn’t Get One

Many families have received their third round of stimulus. This is what the IRS announced early this week.

MSN News, published an article that states in the third round of direct stimulus cash, the IRS released over 169 million payments, with $1,400 checks reaching most American households. However, some advocates and lawmakers are asking for the fourth round of stimulus funding, which would be delivered in installments until the pandemic is over.

On March 20, 2021, President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act, ensuring that millions of Americans will receive a third round of direct stimulus funds.

However, it seems that not everybody received their stimulus check because they fall under different categories. According to MSN News, a few categories of people will need to claim the credit in order to receive their stimulus funds for a variety of reasons.

Parents

According to CNBC News, if you are a parent, you should look into receiving your third round of stimulus payments. Parents of children born in 2021, or households who added another qualifying dependent, such as parents or grandkids, to their 2021 return. Their dependant is eligible for stimulus cash if their parents or guardians were.

In addition to the third stimulus payment, parents of children born in 2021 will almost probably be able to claim the enhanced child tax credit. This may be as much as $3,600 for each child born the previous year.

Tax return

It’s possible that the IRS made a mistake, or that your income dropped between 2020 and 2021, making you eligible for more. You can claim the remainder of the amount on your tax return if this is the case.

If you haven’t gotten all of the funds you’re entitled to, you’ll need to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2021 tax return.

IRS also added that If you didn’t receive the full amount of the first and second Economic Impact Payments, you may be entitled to the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit. To claim it, you’ll need to file a 2020 tax return – even if you don’t normally file taxes. On your 2021 return, DO NOT include any information on the first and second Economic Impact Payments, or the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit.
