An important bill that would allow anll the Alabama families $7,000 to pay for private school tuition is on its way. Only one thing that is left yet is the Government Kay Ivey’s desk to be signed into law. HB129, called the CHOOSE Act, would create education savings accounts, or ESAs, for families of students. This would only help them use toward eligible education expenses.
Ensuring the safety and security of students in K-12 schools is becoming more important with students and staff facing challenges every passing day. These problems have mainly been related to peer pressure, diversity and socio-economic disparities. As the situations of bullying, vandalism, and even more severe threats like violence continue to make headlines, school administrators, parents, and communities are seeking effective solutions to create a safe learning environment for students, it is excatly where video technology steps in as a powerful tool to enhance safety and security.
One of the major steps that can be taken was enhanced monitoring video where strategically placed cameras enable real-time monitoring of key areas such as entry points, hallways and playgrounds. This constant vigilance acts as a deterrent and also allows staff to quickly identify and respond to potential circumstances about the incident.
One more expected solution is using advanced weapons detection where around 3.5 lakh students have experienced gun violence at school. This has started since the horrific Columbine High School shooting in April 1999. And there were more school shootings in 2022, 46 in total, than in any year since then and that is why is it important to use advanced weapons detection. In response to this alarming reality, advanced weapons detection has emerged as a viable deterrent.
Often, these technologies can screen people ten times faster than conventional metal detectors and help them conquer the situation.
