Videos of Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, delivering his emotional speech to Russians are being posted on social media. Said speech pertaining to the Russia-Ukraine crisis took place Saturday morning, in the Ukrainian language.

In not less than a week, explosions have been seen and heard in some parts Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. This is through the direct initiative of The Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin.

CNN reports: According to a Ukrainian government adviser, explosions lit up the sky above the capital before daybreak Friday as Russia struck the city with missile strikes. A CNN crew heard two enormous explosions in central Kyiv and a third loud explosion in the distance, which were followed by at least three further explosions to the city’s southwest a few hours later.

Ukraine President appeals to Russians

As Russian forces drew in on Kyiv, Ukraine’s 44-year-old president recorded himself in the city, promising to fight them to the end.

In a post on Facebook by MOB TV, Zelensky started his speech by saying that that day he initiated a phone call with the leader of the Russian Federation. Sadly, he received nothing but silence but he said the silence should be in Donbas not in that phone call.

Zelenskyy appealed to the Russian Federation as a citizen, not as president of Ukraine.

He also mentioned that the estimated 200,000 soldiers with thousands of military vehicles can ignite a big war in the European nations.

Who needs war?

In the same speech, the Ukraine President questioned those who needs war. He reiterated that there is no need for war; may it be a cold one, a hot one, or a hybrid one.

However, he said, if Russian troops attacked them, they would surely defend themselves. They would fight for their country, their freedom, their lives, the lives of their children. They would defend themselves. It would not be an attack but simply defend themselves. He assured that when Russians attacked them, they would show their faces.

Big disaster

Zelenskyy sees the war as a big disaster, and that disaster equates to big consequences.

“People lose money, reputation, quality of life, they lose freedom. But the main thing is that people lose their loved ones, they lose themselves.”

He falsified that Ukraine is posing a threat to Russia. It was not the situation in the past, not at the moment, and not even in the future. As Russia asks for securities from NATO, Ukraine also asks for the same.

Peace is the main goal

In the latter part of his speech, Zelenssky stressed peace as the main goal. He wants to protect the safety of the Ukrainian people. Because of that, they are ready to have talks with anybody, including the Russian people. He believes that in war, there is no guarantee of security anymore and those who suffer the most are the people; not just the Ukrainian people but also the Russian people.

Before ending his speech, he said he was not sure that his address would be shown on Russian TV, but nevertheless, Russian citizens have to see it. That they should be aware of the truth and the truth is that it is time to end the war before it gets too late.

At the end of his speech, Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the Russian nation if they, as the citizens of Russia, would find it in their heart to seek for war.
