His Dark Materials series is coming back for the second on time despite the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. This is great news for the fans, considering that many of the series and movies were postponed this year. His Dark Materials is coming back to BBC One on November 8, 2020. That mean s that it will air for the US audience a week later, which is on November 16, 2020, on HBO Max. His Dark Materials is actually based on the novel by Philip Pullman of the same name. Despite the lockdown, the series will release its second season on time because the filming of the first season had finished even before the first season had premiered that was way ahead of the time when the pandemic hit the world. Jane Tranter, the executive producer for the series, had asked the fans to be calm as season 2 will premiere by the end of 2020, and it is as she promised.

There are a few trailers and teasers released for the second season of His Dark Material, giving us some of the hints of what the season might hold. In numerous trailers, we see That Lyra and Will are meeting each other, but in the other world, and those trailers, we are also introduced to new characters and cast that would be joining the show. These include Mary Malone, Ruta Skadi, and John Parry. It would be an interesting thing to see what these new characters will bring to the story. These trailers are also filled with great action and glimpses of monsters that would scare the characters. Lately, another longer official trailer has been launched that lets us a better look at the Subtle knife and the growing heat between the witches’ war and the Magisterium. It will also give us a better look at the Spectres that is haunting the silent and lonely town of Cittagazze.

Most of the cast from the first season would be returning for the second season. That includes Dafnee Keen, Ruth Wilson, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Amir Wilson, a newcomer in the industry. Others joining them are Ruta Gedmintas, who would make a reappearance as the witch queen and have a more significant role in season 2, and Joe Tandberg and Helen McCrory give the voice of the armored bear look. New castings that we will see in season 2 will include Terence Stamp, Simone Kirby, Jade Anouka, Bella Ramsay, Andrew Scott (had few scenes in season 1), and Sope Dirisu. About the movie’s plot, we know that there won’t be any major changes in the plot, and it would be following the second book ‘The Subtle Knife’ in the book series by Philip Pullman.
