Falcon, real surname Bernadette Hunt, passed away at 59 after a courageous battle with cancer, according to a family member.
Bernadette Hunt, well widely recognized as Falcon, mostly on the TV game Gladiators, has died at 59. Rick Jango, Hunt’s older sister’s spouse, confirmed her death after a fight with cancer.
“It is with tremendous regret that I have to inform you of my partner’s younger sister Bernadette Hunt,” he said on Facebook. Most people will recognize her as Falcon from the hit TV show Gladiators.
In 1993, the TV personality joined the renowned ITV program in season 2 and was well-recognized among viewers for being the “nicest” Gladiator.
She also appeared in a worldwide version of the television series from 1994 to 1995 and was a regular on the show till it concluded in 1999.
Hunt’s death was reported on March 21 by her sister’s partner Rick Jango in a Facebook post. Mr. Jango paid tribute to one of “the loveliest people” he knew by sharing images of the TV athlete from Gladiators.
“It is with tremendous grief that I have to inform you of my partner’s younger sister Bernadette Hunt,” he wrote. “The majority of people will recognize her as Falcon from the hit TV show Gladiators.”
“I had the pleasure of being in her company a few times, and I have to say she was one of the most lovely individuals I have ever encountered,” he continued.
“She never said anything nasty about anyone, and she was always known as the friendliest Gladiator, always stopping to chat to and sign autographs for anyone.”
“She had been battling cancer for some years before succumbing to it.” Bernie, rest in peace.” A later comment stated that the TV star’s funeral would be private and attended exclusively by the family.
Following her success on Gladiators, the mother-of-two worked as a fitness instructor in Basingstoke. She told the Basingstoke Gazette about life following the ITV series, “I’m really satisfied with the work I do today and am always busy.”
“I spend my time as a fitness instructor and with my two children, Adam, 23, and Angel, four.”
