In the newest Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero trailer, it appears like everyone’s favorite Namekian is getting a makeover. Piccolo has a golden aura during the trailer, giving him a somewhat different appearance with paler green skin and no creases along his arms.
It’s a subtle alteration that accords with Akira Toriyama’s approach to modern changes in Dragon Ball. Piccolo’s transition was so slight that many fans felt it was only a change in lighting rather than a full-fledged transformation, as seen in Dragon Ball Z.
For years, people have speculated about the possibility of the Namekian undergoing a new change. Piccolo has always been the most famous non-Saiyan hero in Dragon Ball, and his strength was once comparable to that of Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan.
Piccolo has been falling behind his Saiyan peers since DBZ’s “Buu Saga,” as new Super Saiyan mutations and fusions have left him in the dust. Piccolo kept up with his conditioning and, as Super showed, finally greatly eclipsed Super Saiyan 2, but he was left too far behind to meet up with Goku and Vegeta, who were constantly gaining new transformations, according to CBR website.
Piccolo’s as a Namekian
Namekians, often known as Nameks or People from Planet Namek, are a race from the planet Namek. They appear in both Universes 6 and 7, and they came from a different dimension entirely. Namekians have the ability to create their own Dragon Balls.
They have humanoid features such as green skin and antennae, as well as plant and slug-like qualities. The name “Namek” is derived from the Japanese term namekuji, which means slug.
King Piccolo and Piccolo Jr. original Japanese transitions of King Piccolo and Piccolo Jr. In the Dragon Ball saga, the Namekians were referred to as a Demon Clan and were thought to be of more earthly origin, as per Dragonball Fandom.
