Alabama woman killed in a head-on motorcycle crash in Holmes County

A Hartford woman is dead after a motorcycle crash in Holmes County Friday morning. According to the Florida Highway Patrol agency, the unknown 45-year-old woman was riding her motorcycle on Highway 79, near County Road 177, when a white pickup truck crossed her lane and hit the motorcycle head-on.


A 28-year-old Bonifay man was driving his pickup truck southbound while a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Highway 79, troopers said. The pickup truck then traveled into the northbound lane, colliding with the front of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle became impaled into the front of the truck, FHP officials wrote.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. They were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. One of them was a 45-year-old woman from Hartford, Alabama.
The Florida Highway Patrol, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Bonifay Police Department, and Holmes County EMS responded to the scene.
