He also served as a Captain and Paramedic, as stated by the Teays Valley Fire Department. The Sheriff’s Office has warned about the West Virginia Public Safety Expo scam. In honor of Lt. Petersen, Mayor Amy Goodwin has ordered that all municipal flags be flown at half-staff. Nothing has been said about funeral arrangements.
“Lieutenant Petersen’s sudden demise has broken our hearts,” said Charleston, West Virginia, in a remark. Lieutenant Petersen’s service to the City of Charleston and the surrounding area demonstrates that he valued others and, above everything, cared about taking care of people, according to Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “I had the privilege and gratification of partnering with Lieutenant Petersen on a regular basis, and I can genuinely say that few people I’ve worked with had so much dedication and love for assisting like Seth,” said Chad Jones, Chief of Charleston Fire. “All Lieutenant Petersen’s Charleston Fire Department brothers will work tirelessly to honor his reputation and remember Lt Petersen for the countless lives he saved.”
