Cities or States That Could Be Eligible for Stimulus Money

As lawmakers focus their efforts on political wrangling, chances for a fourth stimulus check diminish.

Financial aid is still accessible to certain Americans. They are able to do so because they reside in states and towns that provide some type of universal basic income (UBI).

UBI aims to alleviate poverty and provide economic stability for Americans by providing them with the income they require to meet basic necessities.

Each of the cities and states listed below is doing everything it can to help residents escape poverty and provide their families with the necessities of life, as published by the AZ Central site. 

 Local Governments Need to Decide What Is Best

Beginning in June 1982, Alaska has distributed a share of its oil earnings to each of its residents. Last year, 643,000 Alaskans collected $1,114 in dividends.

Chicago will distribute $500 per month to families with incomes of $35,000 or less. This applies to 5,000 random families. 

Struggling fathers in South Carolina might get a $500 monthly payout. 

For a year, 115 previously imprisoned Durham people are randomly chosen. To be eligible, a resident must have served time in prison within the previous five years.  They have a yearly income of no more than 60% earnings. These citizens will get $500 each month for a year.

There are 300 Atlanta residents who are receiving $500 per month through the IMPACT program. A participant had to be at least 18 years old and live on less than 200 percent of the federal poverty threshold. 

The Georgia Resilience and Opportunity Fund will provide $850 monthly payments to 650 Black women over the next two years.

The city of Los Angeles will choose 3,200 low-income households to receive $1,000 per month in stimulus cash for a year.  To qualify, applicants must be a resident of LA and have an income below the federal poverty line. They must be 18 years old or above, pregnant or have at least one dependent child, or have suffered medical or financial hardship as a result of COVID-19, as reported by The Ascent news. 

Newark is providing 400 families with financial assistance. Half of them will be paid $250 every other week, while the other half will be paid $3,000 twice a year. They must be at least 18 years old. Must have an annual income of less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level. 

Teenagers residing in New Orleans will get $350 each month for ten months. 

There are 2,400 artists in financial need who will receive a monthly allocation and get paid $1,000 per month. 

Pittsburgh is giving $500 monthly subsidies for two years to 200 homes.

On top of that, 175 households in Rochester will get $500 monthly payments for one year. Another 175 low-income families will get $500 monthly payments after the first year. Households must be at or below 200 percent of the household poverty line to be eligible.

Low-income families in Shreveport, Louisiana with at least one child aged 3 to 20 are eligible for monthly payments of $660 which is good for a year.

Washington, D.C. will provide $900 per month for a year to 132 new and expecting moms in Wards 5, 7, and 8.
