2 arrested for chemical endangerment of children

During a traffic stop, things took a serious turn when drugs were discovered near young children. Tyler Montgomery, aged 30, and Ashley Little, aged 35, from Prattville ended up in the Elmore County Jail as a result.

According to legal papers, Elmore County deputy sheriffs pulled over a vehicle earlier this month after noticing it was not following traffic laws and weaving. Montgomery was behind the wheel and reached into the console to get the necessary documents like vehicle registration and driver’s license.

“I saw what looked like a prescription pill bottle sticking out from the console,” a deputy mentioned in the incident report. “[He] pushed it further into the console, trying to hide it from my view.”

The deputy also noted the presence of two young children in the car and a strong smell of marijuana.

Little was seated in the front passenger seat, with two other adults also in the vehicle. The adults were asked to step out of the car, and the deputy began searching the vehicle. The pill bottle had been moved near the radio, and a glass pipe was found close to the children.

The deputy then spoke with Montgomery and Little.

“[Little] openly admitted that all four adults had used marijuana inside the vehicle, but she claimed the children were not around at that time,” the deputy reported.
